Watercolor painter and graphic designer Sophie Lietar draws her inspiration from the heart of nature and mountain landscapes. Passionate about hiking, cross-country skiing, and mountaineering, she regularly explores the Alpine terrain, sketchbook or camera in hand, to capture her impressions and fuel her artistic work.
Her sketches and photographs, taken during her explorations, serve as the starting point for her watercolors. Through this technique, she seeks to translate onto paper the sensations experienced in the mountains: the changing light, the wind, the cold, and the warmth of the Alpine landscapes.
Watercolor, a mixture of water and pigments, allows her to sensitively express the emotion of landscapes. The transparency of the colors and the whiteness of the paper give rise to works that are at once delicate, luminous, and vibrant, inspired by the high mountains and wide-open spaces.
Sophie Lietar regularly exhibits her work and also offers
travel sketchbook and outdoor watercolor workshops, inviting everyone to discover painting in direct contact with nature.
