The Historic
Wine Cellar

A true witness to France’s wine heritage, the historic cellar of Abbaye de Talloires houses a remarkable collection of wines from every wine-growing region. Beneath its vaulted ceilings, it reveals patiently selected treasures, from renowned appellations to discoveries from passionate winegrowers.

Guided by Charly, Head Sommelier and a true connoisseur of terroirs and their history, each guest is invited to choose the wine that will best accompany the moment—grand crus or confidential cuvées, for every budget.

Today, the Abbaye’s cellar features over 1,000 references, with a special focus on the wines of Savoie and Haute-Savoie, represented by more than 65 references.

This high standard and diversity were recognised with the award for the “Best Wine List in France” (fine-dining restaurants category) in 2017, a distinction that highlights the team’s passion and expertise.

Wine tasting classes

Abbaye de Talloires offers private wine classes led by Charly, Master Sommelier. Each session includes a guided tasting of five carefully selected wines, paired with a selection of regional products (local cold cuts and cheeses).
Classes are built around the theme of your choice—grape varieties, wine regions, introduction or further exploration—and are adapted to your level and preferences.

Two formats are available:

  • Wine tasting only: €50 per person, for a minimum group of 6 people
  • Tasting with local cold cuts and cheeses: €70 per person, for a minimum group of 6 people

For groups of fewer than 6 people, the tasting with cold cuts and cheeses is offered at a flat rate of €420.
A friendly and educational experience—ideal for deepening your wine knowledge in the Abbaye’s unique and confidential setting.
