ART BY FRIENDS est créée en 2008 à Annecy, Haute-Savoie, berceau d’une scène skate et d’une présence artistique reconnue. A ses débuts, ce sont quelques amis qui se retrouvent  pour exprimer talents et pulsions créatrices sur plateaux de skateboard. Ce support, n’ayant pas l’habitude d’être exposé, s’est vu détourné de son utilisation première. Afin de réaliser une œuvre unique, diverses techniques sont utilisées comme la peinture, le collage, la sculpture, le dessin, le pochoir, la sérigraphie, la pyrogravure... Parmi les artistes qui ont illustré les murs d’exposition d'Art By Friends, nous pouvons citer

Après 5 années d’engouement, le collectif se développe sous forme associative et propose un large éventail de prestations : des ateliers sur les techniques de créations, des performances artistiques réalisées en live, des expositions et des concerts. Le skate «art» a conquis la rue en la sublimant et maintenant s’étend à de nouveaux regards.
