Philosophy

Sensory delights are one of the highlights of an unforgettable day. That’s why satisfying a gourmet’s tastebuds is one of the Abbaye de Talloires priorities. To satisfy the different tastes of the clientele, we propose a choice of three excellent restaurants:

The magnificent redesigned lounges, the shady patios overlooking the lake, the hundred year old vaults of the bar accompanied by the traditional warm welcome all combine to make this a favourite venue for appreciating fine food in keeping with the seasons and a memorable experience.

This title is the result of a combined effort by state and professional bodies to recognize restaurateurs who have acquired recognized professional skills and qualifications and who are committed to working with fresh non-processed products.

Since 2007, the title of Maître Restaurateur is an official recognition which rewards expertise and good practice. It is the only label of quality accorded by the State.
There is a dual objective:

  • Acknowledge the expertise of the best professionals in traditional catering,
  • Highlight the skills as well as their commitment in favour of quality.

The endorsement of Maître Restaurateur is a guarantee of fine home-made gourmet cuisine prepared with the finest fresh products by a team of highly qualified professionals.

  • Interior design
  • Environment and exteriors (where applicable)
  • Hygiene, security and cleanliness

Menus must be varied, at least 4 starters, 4 main dishes and 4 desserts. Otherwise, proposed as suggested alternatives, at least 1 starter, 1 main dish and 1 dessert which must be renewed daily.

The Maître Restaurateur approval is delivered for a period of four years by the Departmental Prefect. This is the second renewal for the Abbaye de Talloires.
